SAE: My SAE is Diversified Crop Production. I am a sixth generation of a family of farmers who raise multiple crops to include corn, wheat, soybeans, and dark fired tobacco. I just recently started to raise chickens, where I plan to use the eggs from the chickens for a service project. This year I plan to expand to 3,000 pounds of dark fired tobacco. I will also continue to work in the corn, wheat, and soybeans with my mom and grandfather. It's very interesting to learn not only the crop production, but also the business management portion of our family farm. My SAE has taught me so much that I will carry on throughout the rest of my life!

Beach or Mountains? Beach

Early bird or night owl? Early bird

Favorite meal: Hot fudge brownie with ice cream

Favorite song: Automatic by Miranda Lambert

Favorite CDE: My favorite CDE is the FFA Creed Speaking Competition. E.M. Tiffany's famous words, “I believe in the future of agriculture” has been such an inspiration to me. Throughout my journey as a creed speaker, I realized that agriculture is what I'm most passionate about. Growing up on my family farm, I've always had a love for agriculture; however, the FFA has allowed me to share that love with others!

Favorite Ag Class: My favorite agricultural class has been Leadership. This class has taught me many different leadership styles, which I can benefit from throughout my year as a Regional Officer. It has also taught me how important a leader is in our world!

Describe a time when you set a goal within the FFA and were not able to meet it; what did you learn? This year was my second year competing in the Job Interview CDE. I went into the competition feeling confident and thinking this is my year to shine. Sitting at sectionals and finding out I got 3rd place was heartbreaking. I had worked so hard, but I didn't make it through. Although I felt like this, it taught me to never give up on a goal even when you fail. Failure is the key to success! You have to get right back up and go for it! “Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.” -Collin Powell

What are you looking forward to most during your year as a Regional Officer? I am looking forward to getting to know my regional officers and seeing what we can do as a team to better the FFA Organization all across Middle Tennessee! I'm also very excited about the Greenhand Conference we host for our freshman members and seeing them shine throughout their first year in FFA! I can't wait for ROPE as well!
